Our heroes

Part of our family, and our search partners over the years, German Shepherd Dogs (and one "international shepherd"...).

Here's Major (Kuskokwim Alpha Ursa Major CD), Hatch's first SAR dog, his partner on searches in Alaska with D.O.G.S. (Dogs Organized for Ground Search) and in Virginia (Virginia Search and Rescue Dog Association), 1975-1980. He helped find an elderly walkaway, alive after 3 days, and two teenage canoeists drowned in a reservoir.
